Description
The 9 mm flat board is the workhorse of the ZICO range. At 400 mm wide it is the widest panel we extrude, which means fewer joints per square metre and a faster wall than any of the narrow profiles.

Working out a quantity
One board covers 1.2 m², so a 10 m² wall needs 9 boards before cutting allowance — that is 2 packs of 6, delivering 14.4 m². Each pack weighs about 39.6 kg.
Where it is used
Large uninterrupted surfaces: corridor walls, hotel bedrooms, office partitions, retail backdrops and flat ceilings. Anywhere the design calls for a continuous field rather than a ribbed texture.
Choosing this over the alternatives
Choose the 9 mm over the 8 mm when weight on the fixing substrate matters. At 5.5 kg/m2 it is the lighter of the two flat boards by 1.5 kg for every square metre installed, which adds up quickly on a plasterboard ceiling.
All 32 ZICO surface codes are produced in this format, so it is the panel to specify when a project needs several finishes drawn from one board thickness.
Matching profiles
A flat-panelled wall is only finished once its edges are. For this board that means:
- External V Corner Trim 30x30mm
- Internal Corner Trim 37mm
- End Cap Trim 47mm
- Crown Cornice 100mm
- Skirting Board 90mm
