Working out a quantity
Supplied in 3 m lengths, 40 pieces to a pack, so one pack is 120 linear metres. Allow two jambs and a head per opening. A standard 900 by 2100 mm door takes about 5.2 m per face, so a door cased on both sides needs 10.4 m.
Where it is used
Standard internal door openings and window reveals in apartments, offices and hotel rooms, where the casing needs to do its job without drawing attention.
Choosing this over the alternatives
The 50 mm casing suits standard 2.1 m door heights. On taller openings it starts to look under-scaled and the 70 mm profile is the better choice.
A standard single door needs about 5.2 m of casing per side. Forty pieces per pack at 3 m covers roughly eleven door sides.
