Working out a quantity
Supplied in 3 m lengths, 30 pieces to a pack, so one pack is 90 linear metres. Two jambs and a head per face, measured to the actual opening. Double doors and tall openings push this well past the single-door figure.
Where it is used
Tall or double doors, hotel suite entrances, and any opening in a room with a ceiling above about 3 m where proportions need the extra width.
Choosing this over the alternatives
Twenty millimetres wider than the standard casing. The rule of thumb is that casing width should grow with door height, not with wall area.
Thirty pieces per pack at 3 m gives 90 linear metres, about eight double-door sides allowing for mitre waste.
